OCTO+: AS4 versatility for complex assemblies
Developed on the proven foundation of the CIMOD AS.4, the OCTO+ was designed to meet the requirements of complex watchmaking assemblies involving the handling of a large number of components. It retains the precision, reliability, and repeatability of the AS4 while offering enhanced versatility.
Inspired by the dexterity of the octopus, from which it takes its name, the OCTO+ features an 18-position carousel for feeding components directly from bulk or trays, along with a 14-position tool changer. This configuration enables the automation of a wide range of T0 watchmaking component assembly and micro-assembly operations, from simple bridges to the most sophisticated mainplates.

With its 18-position rotating table, OCTO+ can accommodate Microfeeds for bulk distribution, as well as Fleury pallet holders.
An additional feed system can be added to supply bridges directly from bulk.
Its 14-position tool changer allows it to meet all filling demands, from the simplest to the most sophisticated plates.
The flip module and double positioning system enable filling on both sides.
Two entry and exit palletizers complete the configuration of this machine.
This platform uses two distinct cameras to control the X and Y position of the component under the pickup head, as well as the X and Y position of the hole where it will be inserted. Vertical precision of +/- 3 µm is ensured by an iterative force and position-based insertion system.
Optionally, a third camera provides aesthetic control of inserted stones using deep learning.
Beyond watchmaking component assembly, the OCTO+ is designed to meet a wide range of precision micro-assembly applications. Its versatility enables the automation of various T0 watchmaking assembly processes, including press-fitting, riveting, setting and screwing, while integrating additional operations such as lubrication. It also adapts to watch movement assembly and the demanding requirements of the jewellery industry, for applications such as clasp assembly and diamond setting.
